Poulet à la moutarde is a classic French dish that translates to chicken with mustard. It's a flavorful and comforting dish where chicken is cooked in a creamy mustard sauce.
Ingredients:
- chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and whole grain mustard. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve the chicken breasts with the mustard sauce spooned over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley.
- Enjoy your delicious poulet à la moutarde with your favorite side dishes, such as rice, mashed potatoes, or vegetables.
